Finding the Pace of Grace
I don't have any cute restaurant recommendations or the top five latest fashion trends for you this week. This week I wanna get real. Is that okay? We're all friends right?...in my head we're friends, so thanks for reading friend. 😌
This week I'm talking about hustle culture, and how hustle culture AIN'T it! Like aren't you tired? Not everyday wake up and grind. Sometimes, it's wake up and practice self-care. Sometimes, it's wake up and do something for fun. Or sometimes, it's even wake up and just relax.
I don't know who led us to believe that we must be going hard every second of every day. We are not robots, we're human beings. Emphasis on beings, not human doers. Sometimes we just need to BE.
Okay, I get it. That girl you went to high school with just bought her first home and you still live with your parents and have two dollars in your savings account. OKAY ANDDDD!? Just because it's not happening right now, doesn't mean it will never happen. Of course you need to work for the things you want, but what good are those things if you're too tired to fully experience them? What good is the house, traveling, the car, if your body is too sore and tired to truly enjoy them? What is all that money good for when you're on the brink of depression? This is why the hustle culture is unsustainable. Find the pace of grace. You can do more, by doing less. I know it sounds crazy, but trust me, this is for real.
I used to want to cram multiple events into my little two day weekends, just so I could feel like I spent my days doing something productive. After doing that for only a month, guess how I felt. Exhausted, burnt out, stretched thin, lost, and just sad. I literally had to schedule a day for me to sleep and rest! It was one of the best Saturday's I've had this summer. Like I said, don't get me wrong. Live your life, have fun, work for what you want, but take it easy on yourself. It's okay to sleep in, or hang out on the couch all day! Your body and mind will thank you; they need time to recharge too!
And with that, I will be following my own advice and will be reducing my load. Which means I will no longer be posting weekly on my blog. I'm taking a break until September, and then I will be posting every two weeks. I gotta practice what I preach. So be sure to follow me on Instagram to stay up to date with my shenanigans @tgood.life
